Enjoy an outdoor soak in this Canadian-made, cedar-wood tub
“I remember the best bath of my life like it was yesterday,” shares Designlines editorial assistant Sophie Sobol. Backpacking in rural Ireland, the moss-covered home where I was staying––not far from the fabled Cliffs of Moher—was unassuming in most ways—all except one. Tucked into the lush greenery of the Irish countryside behind their house, my hosts had planted a ceramic bathtub atop a large metal grate, and a flickering fire. Under the forest foliage, with crows crowing above and the smell of the wood-burning fire below, this DIY hot tub became one of the highlights of my trip, and I vowed that my future home would have an outdoor bathtub like that one.
Enter GOODLAND’s Wood Burning Hot Tub. Designed in Vancouver, built in Winnipeg and shoppable across the country, this elevated hot tub boasts premium materials like Western redcedar to marine-grade aluminium and is both extremely durable, with 3-layer sidewall insulation, and 100 per cent recyclable.

Available in Natural Cedar or Soot Black, the Wood Burning Hot Tub is hot, cold, freshwater- or saltwater-friendly and features a comfortable recliner lounge position. Photography by Britney Gill.
Designed with comfort in mind, the tub is extremely easy to set up (only 10 minutes if you follow the guide) and safe-to-use. Plus, it only takes 90-120 minutes to heat the tub, roughly ~30 minutes to fill, and only ~15 minutes to drain. With the provided add-ons, including a removable chimney with child-safe heat shield, cedar stirring paddle, drainage kit and more, GOODLAND has truly thought of it all—so all you have to do is sit back and relax.
I’ve been chasing the deep relaxation of that outdoor bath for years and thanks to GOODLAND, I think I’ve finally found it. In Canada’s great outdoors, sink into a simmering tub and indulge in the hot tub of your dreams with the Wood Burning Hot Tub.
