Montreal artist Zeynep Boyan debuts a stunning lighting series inspired by ancient architecture and timeless craftsmanship

Last year, artist Zeynep Boyan invited us into her creative process as she began her residency with Luminaire Authentik. Now, her vision has been fully realized with the launch of the Monumental collection, a breathtaking series of six original lighting designs. Inspired by the architectural grandeur of ancient civilizations and the rich cultural heritage of pre-modern Türkiye, the collection seamlessly blends history with modern intervention.

At the heart of the collection is the Centrepiece Pendant, a fixture that invites interaction and experimentation. Its design features six stoneware disks, each meticulously handcrafted, paired with artisanal hand-blown bulbs. The cords can be adjusted to varying lengths and arrangements, allowing for endless possibilities to adapt the pendant to your space. Whether installed above a dining table or in a lofty entryway, this sculptural fixture commands attention while leaving room for creative interpretation.

For those seeking a smaller yet equally striking design, the Table Lamp serves as the Monumental Collection’s signature piece. With its sculptural dimmer and intricate details, this lamp is as much an artistic centrepiece as it is a functional object. The handcrafted stoneware, paired with powder-coated hardware and a hand-blown bulb, makes this lamp a one-of-a-kind treasure for design enthusiasts.
