Taking inspiration from the annual summer night festival hosted on Sterling Road by The Stop Community Food Centre, this 15-storey project by Castlepoint Numa (with Greybrook Realty Partners) will provide a home for a more permanent marketplace.

To reflect the bounty of fresh greens on offer at ground level, TACT Architecture’s scheme proposes several greenery-filled, wood-clad voids located mid-way up the building. One punches out three floors of suites to create a small forest of trees, growing among concrete columns that prop up the additional units above. Along with the grassy public space planted to the south of the tower’s base, these accents will bring a refreshing hit of vegetation to the reclaimed brownfield site.
MOVING IN:
Interiors by Jules Valentine embrace such classic materials as porcelain tile and quartz, with engineered wood floors, for a clean, Scandi-style feel. Plus, it’s hard to ask for better neighbours. The development is rising in what’s quickly becoming Toronto’s most happening locale, around the corner from the Museum of Contemporary Art’s new home, plus Henderson Brewing Company and Drake Commissary.
